Couples’ Councelling

Couples' Councelling

Marriage & Relationship

Couples’ counselling is designed for couples who face problems with their relationship and/or marriage. A variety of issues (emotional, sexual, social or financial) may lead a couple to a crisis. Each partner’s different opinions, beliefs and background may cause disagreements and conflicts.

The most common couples’ problems are the following:

-Emotional alienation
-Lack of honest communication and mutual goals
Infidelity
-Lack of sexual drive
Disagreements as to the upbringing of children
Violent and dysfunctional behaviors between spouses
Separation/Divorce/Reconnection management

A psychologist’s role in relation to the above issues is to assist partners in understanding each other’s thoughts and feelings and to explore ways in which the couple may overcome the crisis. Couples’ counselling offers valuable help to couples by presenting healthier ways of dealing with problems, negotiating more effectively and taking responsible decisions.
For couples’ counselling to work successfully, both partners to a relationship must be willing participants by investing time and effort to the process.
